Israel is mostly seen as a country where people are of Jewish background. There are over 8 million Jews living in the country. Next to them there are also more than 1 million Arabs that are living in Israel by virtue of birth or family. Israel’s secularism hides the religious diversity that could emerge in the future. It is estimated that there are more than 300,000 Christians living in Israel, although they make up less than half of all Christian believers worldwide.
